Coach Steve Hawley is in his second year as the head coach of the Patriots Mid-High football team. A native of Oklahoma, Steve has been a pastor and coach in Oklahoma, California, Hawaii, and Colorado. After college, he worked with and coached at-risk students in Los Angeles, California, before returning to Oklahoma. He was the Pastor at Eastland Hills Baptist Church for 23 years and, during this time, served as Head Coach for football, basketball, baseball, and track beginning in mid-high and then high school. His high school teams made the playoffs six times, winning a state championship and being state runner-up. He retired from coaching to do mission work in Hawaii and Colorado for 17 years but returned to Oklahoma to care for his parents and to be involved in his grandkids’ lives. In addition to coaching the Patriot, he is a Teaching Pastor at Grace Place Baptist Church and the President of Hawley Consulting Group, a Financial Services Group that works with Medicare, Life, and Health insurance beneficiaries.

Steve loves being with his players and coaches. He desires to lead by example and challenge the young men on the Patriots team to know Christ, to seek Him always, in every situation, to be accountable to Him, and to simply learn to act like a Christian ought to act both on and off the field.

Steve has been married to his wife Cindy for 46 years and has two children, Brent and Alicia, and four grandchildren, Owen, Ethan, Gracie, and Glorie. His grandsons play for the Patriots, and he coaches his granddaughters’ basketball team.
